Biography

Toy, Benjamin F. On December 11, 2009 of Berlin, NJ. Age 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Bergstrom). Devoted father of Mary Ellen Toy-Koch and her husband Glenn of Berlin and the late Barry Toy. Dear brother of Albert Toy, William Toy, and Frances Cartwright. Predeceased by siblings Ephraim, Revilla and Esther. Proud grandfather of Amber & Ashley Harned and Victoria Koch. Ben was a member of the Berlin Baptist Church, Berlin Fire Co. #1, Berlin Republican Club, and life member of VFW ANMAC Post #6253 where he served his Post as chaplain for over 50 years. He was a WWII Army 1st Lieutenant who participated in the invasion of Normandy, liberation of the Concentration Camps, and Purple Heart recipient; he retired from the NJ National Guard after 21 years of service with the rank of Captain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday evening 7:00-9:00PM and Wednesday morning 9:00-10:00AM at the COSTANTINO FUNERAL HOME 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN, NJ 08009. Funeral service 10:30AM Berlin Baptist Church 90 E. Broad Ave. Berlin, NJ. Interment Berlin Cemetery.
