Biography

Cathrall, Bertha
(nee Ray) On January 21, 2010. Beloved wife of Jack Cathrall of 63 years. Devoted mother of Alice Ray Cathrall and the late Dixon Andrew Cathrall. Dear sister-in-law of Janet Cathrall of Stratford, and Carmine Clay Cathrall of Florida. Predeceased by three sisters, she was the loving aunt of Bob Rymer of Charleston, SC, Ann Rymer of Taos, NM, Kathy Rymer of Jacksonville, FL, Henny Weissinger of Knoxville, TN, Gale Stafford of Rock Hill, SC, Sara Lynn Fly of Winston-Salem, NC, John Guy Cathrall of Gloucester Twp., and George H. Cathrall of Merrill's Inlet, SC. Bertha is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews. Bertha and Jack both graduated from Tusculum College in Bertha's birthplace Greeneville, TN. Bertha taught Home Economics at Triton High School for over 20 years; the Cathrall family has lived in Stratford for over 100 years. Jack and family will receive relatives and friends Saturday morning 10:00-11:00AM at Stratford Methodist Church Union & Central Avenues. Memorial Service 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bertha's memory may be made to the Dixon Andrew Cathrall Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Tusculum College P.O. Box 5040 Greeneville, TN 37743.
