Joseph Komito



After a short illness surrounded by his loving family, on April 5, 2018 of Albion, NJ. Age 91 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jessie. Devoted father of Bruce Komito (Judy), Debbie Mangaro (Mark), Susan Kenney (Thomas), Joyce Hughes, and Ellen Blatcher (Patrick). Proud grandfather of Joseph (Kelly), Andrew (fiancée Danielle), Emily, Malinda, Mark (Stephanie), Tara (Christopher), Amanda, Kimberly, Ryan, Eric (fiancée Kathryn), Lauren (fiancé Daniel), Katelyn (Sean), Sean (fiancée Nicole), and Timothy. Great grandfather of 10. Joseph was a founding member of Albion Fire Department and responsible for the construction of many of the homes in that section of Winslow Township. Born in a small town in southeastern Poland, Joseph lived 6 years under Nazi occupation including labor and concentration camps. He was proud of the many years he spent sharing his Holocaust experiences with South Jersey school children hoping to enlighten them on the consequences of hate and intolerance.
